About The Organiser

Azra is a Malaysian who has spent a little more than the last decade living in Australia.  She landed in Australia to do her Masters' in Commerce, majoring in Marketing and Tourism Marketing.  She has held jobs in Client Relationship Management and Conference Production then traded in her corporate heels to walk around barefoot in the yoga world.  After her first 200 Hour Teacher Training with BodyMindLife in Sydney, Az continued her yoga education with teachers that include Shiva Rea, Sarah Powers, Maty Ezraty, Chanel Luck, Simon Park and Les Leventhal, to name a few.  Apart from teaching, she also does administrative work in BodyMindLife, and for the last few years, has been the Office and Finance Manager for Forrest Yoga.

It was while Azra was on holiday in the land of her birth, sitting at the beach that she thought, 'why not bring people here?'  Malaysia after all, is a unique and multi-cultural country with amazing beaches, rainforests, and mountain trails, and not to mention food.  She also realised that there were so many amazing yoga teachers who would she personally would like to go on retreat with and yet might not have the time to do the planning and background work necessary to create a complete experience.

So here we are.

Ksatria Shakti was born.

Ksatria Shakti is a combination of Azra’s love for the place she grew up in, her passion for sustainable tourism and cultural conservation, and her deep reverence for the practice that has played a big part in making her whole.  It is an attempt to share the stories, the culture, the beauty of the land she grew up in with you.  This is also, in her way, a gift for the future generation, prompted by the birth of her niece Aaliya.  May the children of the future be able to witness the beauty of nature and a deep sense of pride in their culture.

At these retreats, Azra will only teach bits and pieces if that, so that she can use her energy and skills to ensure that you have the best attention, care and overall experience during your time with us.  She'll also be assisting some of the classes to take you deeper into the space of your practice.  Az believes that her dharma is to serve by creating the best experience for all involved.

“We wanderers, ever seeking the lonelier way, begin no day where we have ended another day; and no sunrise finds us where sunset left us. Even while the earth sleeps we travel. We are the seeds of the tenacious plant, and it is in our ripeness and our fullness of heart that we are given to the wind and are scattered.”
